TelecityGroup

TelecityGroup, provider of premium network independent data centres, has undertaken a number of approaches to improve the efficiency of its facilities.

These include establishing an ‘Energy Management Forum’ within the company, that ensures that the operational experience and best practice of its employees is shared across the entire organisation.

A pressing concern within the data centre is managing air flow, which impacts the cost required to cool server equipment. Telecity has addressed this problem by installing over half a million ‘blanking panels’ to ensure the separation of hot and cold air flows.

As Telecity builds new data centre facilities, it has taken advantage of new technological innovations and of the European Code of Conduct for data centres to ensure that the impact of customer expansion on the environment is kept to a minimum.
